Grade 11 Physics
SPH3U is a Grade 11 university-preparation physics course that introduces students to the fundamental principles of physics through mathematical analysis and experimental investigation. The course explores key topics including kinematics, dynamics, energy transformations, waves, sound, and basic electricity. Students learn to analyze motion using equations and graphs, apply Newton’s laws to real-world situations, and understand how energy is transferred and conserved in physical systems. Through laboratory experiments (simulated), problem-solving activities, and conceptual reasoning, students develop critical scientific skills such as data analysis, inquiry, and effective communication of scientific ideas. SPH3U also builds a strong foundation for senior physics courses and future studies in science, engineering, and technology-related fields.
